HOW TO MEASURE YOUR DINING ROOM

MEASURING FOR A DINING TABLE:

To find the maximum length and width of your dining table, measure the length and width of your room in feet, then subtract 6 from each measurement. If your dining room is 14’ x 11’, subtract 6 from 14 and 11—your ideal table size is around 8’ x 5’.

Leave at least 3' of space between walls or walkways and your table to provide enough space to walk and pull back chairs.

MEASURING FOR DINING CHAIRS

Make sure your dining chairs fit the height of your table. We recommend having about 10”-12” of space between the apron or underside of your table and the seat of your chair—this keeps everyone sitting at a comfortable height.

Project Tip: Test the Placement

To know how your dining set will fit in your room, use masking or painter’s tape on your floor to map out where your dining table and rug will sit.
